Healthy Habits – #GimmeFive

This post is dedicated to celebrating the fifth anniversary of Michelle Obama’s “Let’s move!” initiative. In order to celebrate five years of Let’s Move, she has urged everyone to incorporate five new healthy habits into daily routine.

My contribution to #GimmeFive is the list of five things I do to stay healthy:

  • Drink lots of water
  • Walk whenever possible
  • Play with my daughter
  • Run
  • Try to eat more fruits and veggies

It is hard sticking to a routine, but if the President and the First Lady can find time, so can we.  Now, I ask you all to reply with the five things you do to stay healthy. You can list them down in the comments section below or reply on Facebook or Twitter. It can be dance, sleep (these days getting more sleep is a healthy step too!), zumba, hiking, anything. If you have any creative way to incorporate a healthy habit, I would love to know. #GimmeFive friends!

  1. I try to exercise and eat healthy, but here is what I want to do differently.

    1. Go to bed early.
    2. Let hurtful thoughts go.
    3. Forgive those who might have hurt my feelings in the past.
    4. Focus on the positive things in my life.
    5. Think more before I speak.

    1. Great lifestyle changes you have mentioned there, Julia. It reminded me too to focus on positive things! Thank you.
